All our services are confidential and any information regarding you and/or your family is personal and private. Please see the attached PDF titled “Your Personal Health Information Protection Brochure” (PHIPA).
There are some specific exceptions to this that you need to be aware of; should we have concerns that a young person under 16 years of age has been, or is at risk of being, a victim of any form of child abuse we are obligated by law to share these concerns with the local Children’s Aid Society; should we have concerns that a person is at risk to hurt him or herself, or someone else, we have an ethical obligation to help ensure safety; if the courts instruct us to provide information to them, then we must do so. In all other situations, we will require your written permission to share information regarding you and your family.
